Loss adjusters urge more liability clarity

Shipowners have been warned they face ever more complex issues about costs incurred in limiting further damage to a vessel involved in a casualty. Speaking at a meeting of marine insurers and brokers, senior figures from the Association of Average Adjusters (AAA) warned that there remain considerable uncertainties. They said these uncertainties had not been clarified by two recent UK court decisions, which addressed the question of what constitutes actions that can be recovered under a 'sue and labour' clause.
