It is not often that Solutions finds itself in general agreement with the ITF. However, with regard to the acquittal of the men in control of El Salam Maritime - the owner of the ill-fated Egyptian ferry al-Salam Boccaccio 98, which sank with the loss of over 1,000 lives in 2006 - the words of ITF seafarers secretary Jon Whitlow could have come from Solutions itself. Whitlow described the decision to acquit Mamdouh Ismail Mohammed and his son Amro Ismail, chairman and vice-chairman of El Salam Maritime respectively, as inexplicable.
