China's Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has won its first gas carrier order: two LNG/ethane multigas vessels for Danish shipowner Evergas. The two 27,000 m~3 vessels are scheduled for delivery in 1H17 at a price of about USD70 million each. Shipbroking sources say the deal has been confirmed and that the newbuildings are expected to be built at Jiangsu New Yangzijiang. Evergas currently has six similar multigas vessels at Nantong Sinopacific, with the first about to be delivered, three more due this year, and the final two in 2016. All are on a 15-year contract with INEOS to transport US shale-gas ethane to Grangemouth, Scotland, and to Rafnes, Norway.
