EU to revise quality policy system

The European Commission will present, on 27 May, a communication setting strategic guidelines for agricultural product quality policy, with a view to coining forward with legislative proposals in 2010. It confirmed its intention, on 13 March, with its publication of the results of the consultation launched with its green paper of 15 October 2008. A total of 560 organisations and individuals submitted opinions, far more than expected, recognised Agriculture Commissioner Marianne Fischer Boel at a conference on agri-rncultural quality policy opening the same day in Prague.
