Meeting on 29 November in Brussels, the fisheries ministers of the European Union reviewed the annual consultations opened on 16 November in Brussels with Norway. The talks, which will resume on 29 November in Bergen (Norway), concern the setting of total allowable catches (TACs) for jointly managed North Sea stocks and quota swapping. It is the latter point that is problematic: the Norwegians are willing to swap a certain volume of quotas for Atlantic cod stocks.
