EIB loan in Lesotho

The European Investment Bank (EIB) granted a loan of €140 million, on 14 October, in support of Metolong Dam & Water Supply, which is part of the Lesotho government's programme to combat poverty. The EIB loan will be used for the Metolong dam and related infrastructures, the country's water network, purification stations and environmental and social management, as well as institutional support measures. The loan will provide the financial backing needed to complete the project.
