Whale hunting to continue without constraints

Japan, Norway and Iceland will be able to continue hunting whales in large quantities without the control of the International Whaling Commission (IWC). After the disappointing results of the conference on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), held in Doha in March, biodiversity - which is supposed to be at the heart of concerns in 2010 - the so-called International Year of Biodiversity - has just suffered a new setback.
