Final eco-focused rural programmes approved

Biodiversity and water management are the two key areas of the final wave of proposals for modification of rural development programmes approved by the Rural Development Committee at its meeting in late January. The European Commission announced, on 29 January, the approval of seven programmes presented by the Czech Republic (€42 million of funding), Spain (€70.7m), France (€13.3m - two programmes), Hungary (€54.2m), Ireland (€146.3m) and Portugal (€20m).
