Report projects massive ten-year growth of renewables

Concentrated solar power (CSP) electricity production capacity is expected to increase by an average annual rate of 41.2% in the next five years, coupled with a 43.2% yearly growth of offshore wind power. The 2015-2020 period will witness a huge upheaval of tidal, wave and ocean energy in Europe. These are some of the findings of a comprehensive data collection carried out by the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands on behalf of the European Environmental Agency, published on 28 November.
