摘要

"Considerable gaps exist for the iden tification of chemicals that can affect humans and wildlife," states a report, pub lished on 20 February, by the European Commission1. According to the report, internationally recognised control systems are capable of identifying only a limited percentage of endocrine disrupters (ED). For a large majority of chemicals, there are no validated test methods and these chemicals continue to be used in common consumer products despite the endocrine disruptions they cause.
