Symposium explores potential of power to gas technology

Power to gas, a technology that converts electrical power to a gas fuel, can play a major role in the future storage of fluctuating power supplied by renewable energies. That was the message delivered at the TUV NORD1 'Power to gas' symposium, held on 27 November in Brussels. The seminar participants discussed the potentials of this technology to become a viable long-term storage option. However, more research and development is needed to increase efficiency and lower costs before power to gas technology can become a viable alternative.
