Solar spat: PR battle continues

The idea of an EU-China compromise solution on solar panels is fading away as leaked European Commission documents reveal Beijing is demanding that only very limited restrictions be applied to its exports of solar products. The EU has accused China of selling solar panels, cells and wafers into the Union's market below production cost, a practice known as dumping, and decided to slap punitive customs duties on their import. In an effort to demonstrate its willingness to find a solution, the Commission agreed to impose transitional duties of around 11.8% for a period of two months.
