CO_2 EMISSION OF VANS MEPs want objective for 2025 and speed limit

The objective for 2020 has been confirmed and an objective for 2025 has even been added, meanwhile "super-credits" are being upheld to encourage innovation. On 7 May, the European Parliament's Committee on the Environment (ENVI) adopted a report Holger Krahmer (ALDE, Germany) on the draft regulation on CO_2 emissions of light commercial vehicles. In doing so, ENVI hardly drifted away from the position adopted on 24 April on the parallel position on private cars. ENVI did, however, add an extra constraint for vans: a speed limit of 120 km per hour, which, as MEPs see it, will not only reduce consumption and emissions but also the energy bill.
