Council 2010 was organised on the campus of the University d'Haute Alsace. Over 70 delegates attended. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the activities of the EPS and to decide on a process for developing a new EPS strategy.rnThe EPS President, Maciej Kol-was, began by placing the EPS in context, reminding Council of the goal of the EPS to contribute to and promote the advancement of physics, in Europe. The EPS has achieved this by building a community over the past 40, comprised of 41 Member Societies, 2700 Individual Members and 50 Associate Members and provides a forum at the European and international levels to inform develop and coordinate activities more effectively.
