Claudio Ciborra: convenor of information systems October 2000 to February 2005

The first time I met Claudio was in a dark panelled room at LSE in November 2001, when he interviewed me for the post of Departmental Manager. Despite what I thought was a dreadful interview, he called me the next day to offer me the post, which I duly accepted. Although my start date wasn't until January, Claudio invited me to the Departmental Christmas dinner in December at Bank Restaurant where he introduced me to the many members of the Department and made me feel very much part of the team. Good meals out became a regular event in the Department under Claudio's 'reign.' Departmental receptions, Christmas parties and leaving do's were always flowing with quality wine and food. At Claudio's inaugural lecture, the catering was done by an Italian friend of his and it was superb.
