摘要

Across Europe, a marked trend in the structure of employment in the past three decades has been the growth of private services. This is an extremely heterogeneous sector, encompassing some of the most qualified and highest paid (not always the same thing, of course) members of the labour force and some of the most insecure, lowest paid and worst treated.
