No good deed will go unpunished. I don't know who said that, but it sure applies to my recent string of luck. Nice guy that I am, I offered to take the boys of Boy Scout Troop 1201 on a fishing expedition at Lake Arrowhead. We were supposed to fish from the dock, but I had cleaned out most of the aquatic life there some weeks ago. Fish must see it as a "death zone"; they don't come by anymore. Out in our 27-ft Hallet, the luck was no better, and after 2 hours of nothing, we went back to the dock where I donned a wet-suit and a 42-in. Cressisub speargun. If they won't take bait, they will always take steel. Several four-pounders later, the boys were whipped into a frenzy to the extent that one fell between the boat and the dock. As I pulled him out, an errant wave pinched my hand between the boat and the slip, effectively crushing my wrist (better my arm than his head).
