Long Term Investments for a Global Sustainable Energy Supply

The world population is continuously growing. In the year 2000 we surpassed 6 billion and by 2050 we expect to reach a total of 9.5 billion people. Two thirds will then live in big cities, which will have an increased energy demand of more than 60% compared to now. Big cities will be confronted with huge challenges to manage the necessary energy delivery in a sustainable way. Already today we can see cities reaching their limits, defining green areas where cars are no longer allowed to drive.
