9th International DHC+ Student Awards' Winners Announced during 2021 EHP Congress

The DHC+ Student Awards it's an initiative to highlight and recognize the outstanding and original contributions new generations make to district heating and cooling related research, including scientific, technological, environmental, social and legal aspects. During the awards' ceremony the winners presented their research to the EHP Congress participants. This year's winner was Thibaut Wissocq, EDF postdoctoral research- er at Mines Paris-Tech (France) for his PhD on "Multiperiod MILP for heat network design including thermal storages and individual interest consideration: an application for DHN and waste heat recovery". His study focused on how to make the best use of waste heat and how to deal with barriers such as temporal or economic mismatch. His findings present a systemic approach to heat recovery network design and can be adapted to different territories, actors or scale providing various solutions and new perspectives, the most important being to have a robust network system and to anticipate possible failures.
