If You're' Still In' the Paris Climate Agreement, Then Show Us the Money

In the wake of Trump's misguided decision to pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement, there has been a groundswell of sub-national US support for climate action. Governors Brown (CA), Inslee (WA) and Cuomo (NY), launched the US Climate Alliance, which now has 13 member states. Meanwhile, US businesses, universities, cities and states launched the' We Are Still In' coalition, which now has more than 2000 signatories.These non-federal leaders and coalitions are committed to support the goals of the Paris Agreement, despite the actions of the federal administration. Their commitment to climate action has been welcomed by many who worried that Trump's actions would derail momentum on climate change. However, such coalitions have yet to meaningfully address a crucial element of the US'contribution to international climate action, namely, its commitment to fund international climate finance.
