摘要

The prospect of acidification of the world's oceans has justifiably received much attention in the public and scientific press. The concern has, in fact, been followed with surprisingly fast reaction by decision-makers, managers, and institutions, such that rather substantial commitment of funds and personnel are being invested in efforts to understand the issues. Current efforts try to adequately constrain measurement of the actual degree of ambient change, as well as address the biological responses to perceived changes in the biogeochemical makeup of sea water.
