Response to Comment on 'Environmental life Cycle Comparison of Algae to Other Bioenergy Feedstocks'

We thank Professor Starbuck for her comment and her willingness to continue discussion on the timely topic of life cycle assessment (LCA) for algae-to-energy systems . This is an area of active research, as made evident in recent months by publication of several additional algae-to-energy LCAs in the academic literature and release of a National Algal Biofuels Technology Roadmap by the United States Department of Energy in May 2010.
