Sustainability: The Three Responsibilities

Sustainability can be a difficult concept for businesses to incorporate into their day-to-day operations. To make the process simpler, I recommend that organizations try to viewrnsustainability simply as a way of operating effectively and efficiently. As part of this approach, I have suggested five "sustainability basics" for companies:rn1. business continuity and risk management,rn2. responsibility,rn3. conformance and compliance,rn4. performance, andrn5. continual improvement.rnThis column focuses on the second of these basics, responsibility. The others have been discussed in prior installments of the "Quality Toolbox" column.
