摘要

In India, mining companies are now realizing that reclamation of mined-out land simply by planting fast-growing trees will not result in the recovery of a degraded ecosystem. Instead, those involved in reclamation must assist in the rebuilding of the ecosystem recovery process through ecological restoration. It has been proven experimentally that biodiversity could be restored by ecological restoration. There is a close relationship between ecological understanding and successful restoration. The technical aspects are the key to the ecological restoration of mine-degraded lands, and it should be carried out in an orderly manner that displays the following characteristics: i. The work has as its goal the production of better land use and productivity than was the case prior to mining activities, ii. Backfilled areas must be regraded and blanketed with soil.
