Hazmat Harmonization Proposal

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is proposing a package of amendments to harmonize its hazardous materials regulations (HMRs) with international shipping standards.rnSince 1990, PHMSA has issued nine rules to maintain HMR alignment with updates to the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the International Civil Aviation Organization's Technical Instruction for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
