GHG reporting amendments issued for fluorinated gases

In a single rule affecting fluorinated gas production facilities that must annually report data under the greenhouse gas (GHG) mandatory reporting program (MRP), the EPA has consolidated final actions introduced in four separate proposals issued between January 2012 and July 2014. First, the rule adds chemical-specific and default global warming potentials (GWPs) for over 100 fluorinated GHGs (F-GHGs) and fluorinated heat transfer fluids (F-HTFs) to the general provisions of the MRP. Currently, these F-GHGs and F-HTFs are not assigned GWPs.
