Release of publications on global change

摘要

The International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) offers an entire book as a free download from its book series published by Springer. The book Global Change and the Earth System: a Planet under Pressure by Steffen et al. (2004) can be downloaded as a Pdf file. This 336-page volume soon will be available as individual chapters at. Embarking on its next phase, IGBP has announced that the contract with the book's publisher, Springer, expired, which allowed IGBP to make it freely available. IGBP describes the book as "a culmination of 15 years work by thousands of scientists worldwide" that concludes IGBP's first phase.
