Climate change is a hot policy topic as climatic changes challenge our way of life. The next assessment report by the IPCC (AR5), scheduled for publication this year, is based on representative concentration pathways (RCPs) instead of the familiar socioeconomic scenarios. Its global and regional projections of future climate change are eagerly awaited worldwide.
