Test groups win grants to invest

Two of the UK's biggest automotive testing groups will benefit from government grants to help fund future investments in facilities and jobs. MIRA's Technology Park Enterprise Zone near Hinckley won £7.4 million of a £23 million package to invest in enterprise zones announced by local growth minister Kris Hopkins. MIRA has plans to expand its current automotive research and testing activities to become what it intends will be "Europe's most advanced transport technology facility", with more than 2,500 people employed by 2021. The project has attracted investment by tenants such as Haldex, Bosch Engineering, Lockheed Martin and Ashok Leyland.
