摘要

This study assesses environmental policy trade- offs for a World Heritage Site in Jordan as an example where cultural and environmental concerns played a significant role in the engineering design process and decision making of a wastewater system. Alternatives are presented for wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal in a nationally protected area which includes Petra, the most visited archaeological site in Jordan. A Multicriteria decision analytic framework that integrates Environmental, cultural, and technical factors is Presented.
