Phillip G, Coop is president and CEO of EnSafe Inc. (Memphis, Tenn.; www.ensafe.com), a 25-year-old, $38-million professional services firm that divides its practice into four areas: civil and remediation engineering; environmental consulting and engineering; health and safety services; and technology development, including software services, geographic information systems and network infrastructure. EnSafe employs approximately 265 people in 16 offices, including offices in Kazakhstan and the Slovak Republic. Coop recently spoke with EBJ about his experiences in pursuing international opportunities, recapping many of the remarks he made during a presentation at the Environmental Financial Consulting Group's CEO Conference in New York City on October 21.
