EREF STRESSES THE NEED FOR EDUCATION ON RECYCLING & CONTINUED EVOLUTION OF WASTE MINIMIZATION AND WASTE INFRASTRUCTURE OPTIMIZATION

Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) is a 501©3 non-profitorganization funding and directing scientific research and educational initiatives to advancethe solid waste industry and communities it serves. The Foundation is one of the largest sourcesof funding for solid waste research in North America. EREF accomplishes its mission throughits core programs: Research Grants, Scholarship, Education, Data & Policy, Internship in Excellenceand its Municipal Solid Waste eTextbook.Bryan Staley, P.E., Ph.D., President and CEO of EREF. Dr. Staley joined EREF in 2008,where he started as Vice President of Environmental Programs, and has over 20 years’ experiencein the environmental engineering field. He is recognized nationally as a technical expertin sustainable solid waste management issues, and obtained a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering fromNorth Carolina State University. Dr. Staley is a licensed professional engineer who has held keypositions in consulting firms as a Project Manager and Vice President of Engineering, where hemanaged projects ranging from solid waste management, wastewater treatment system design,to retail/commercial land development and environmental management of large-scale livestockoperations. Catherine Ardoin, Communications Manager at EREF. She joined the organizationin 2016 and she is responsible for executing all communications supporting brand awareness,programs, partnerships, fundraising and marketing campaigns. Prior to joining the EREFteam, she served as a Social Media Coordinator for a North Carolina-based author.
