The European Commission does not plan to alter the packaging directive "at this stage", Karolina Fras, from DG Environment's Sustainable Production and Consumption unit, has said. "There are no major changes to the Directive expected, the focus is on implementation. It is good to implement what we have and not change things now," she told the 13th annual European Packaging Law conference on 14 March. "This will allow new member states to achieve the goals and for all to work on meeting the new targets and prevention aims."
