Compromise close for burden sharing, says Finnish MEP

Despite the fact that some 200 amendments were tabled on the report concerning the EU's effort sharing to reduce CO_2 emissions, Green Finnish MEP and rapporteur on the issue, Satu Hassi has said she is confident a compromise is close at hand. Speaking at the European Parliament's Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee on 10 September, Ms Hassi said she could support most amendments on issues such as the clean development mechanism (CDM), compliance, forestry and land use and external mitigation and adaptation commitments.
