European Chemicals Agency agrees to new guidance process

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has agreed to make public the views of EU member states that have a dissenting opinion on the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) guidance documents. The decision comes as the ECHA management board has endorsed a process for adopting guidance that covers minor corrections, more substantive amendments or revisions. The REACH guidance documents aim to facilitate the implementation of REACH by describing good practice on how to fulfil the obligations set down for companies.
