Plastic bags are dominating environmental headlines at present, notably in the UK, with the Prime Minister Gordon Brown's commitment to cut their use (see story this issue). The Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling and Resource Management (ACR+)'s updated report "Plastic bags - policies and practices to reduce consumption" shows that plastic bags are a worldwide, not just a national concern.
