Czechs call for an end to plastic shopping bags

Free plastic shopping bags should not be allowed, according to Martin Bursik, the vice prime minister, environment minister and chairman of the Green Party in the Czech Republic. "If the bag is free, customers automatically take more of them. The result is a higher amount of waste ending in the environment," said Jakub Kaspar, spokesman to the environment ministry.
