Drinks packaging firms Tetra Pak, Elopak and SIG Combibloc increased their use of certified or controlled wood fibres from 47 per cent in 2007 to 77 per cent in 2008. That was the message of a new report of ProForest, an independent verifier of natural resource management, released this week.rnCertified wood fibres come from sustainably managed forests, while controlled fibres mean that materials do not come from illegally harvested forests or forests being converted to plantation or non-forest use.
