ECHA publishes guidance on chemical safety assessment

The European Chemicals Agency published Guidance on Chemical Safety Assessment in a Nutshell on 3 November. The document, which is available in the Guidance section of the ECHA website, is aimed at nonexperts who would like to understand legal requirements on the assessment under the EU's REACH chemicals regulation. It provides an overview of what the assessment is, how it is performed and documented. It also outlines the communication needs down the supply chain and the resources required, in terms of time and expertise, to comply with the legal obligations.
