Greens hit out at presidency after energy labelling talks

Green MEPs have lashed out at Swedish presidency backing for A++++ energy labels on electrical goods after 3 November trialogue talks aimed at finding a compromise deal on an EU wide scheme.rnThe trialogue talks between the Council, Commission and European Parliament saw the presidency controversially back a proposal, which would allow the introduction of new classifications up to "A++++" for domestic appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators. The Greens say that only a minority of member states support the proposal, which MEPs at the talks rejected wholeheartedly.
