US: EPA to update toxicity data for 15 chemicals

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is conducting a literature search, and asking for public assistance, to update various toxicity values - each more than a decade old - for 15 chemicals in the agency's Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) database.rnThe update is part of a new initiative - the IRIS Update Project - that EPA will announce in the October 21 Federal Register (FR).rnThe IRIS database contains information on the human health effects associated with more than 500 chemicals. Government and private entities use the information to support their risk assessment and risk management activities.
