Pressure mounts to change recast WEEE proposal

With four years now passed since the date by which member states needed to meet the waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) directive (August 2005, from August 2004), pressure is increasing from various sides to amend the European Commission's recast proposal.rnBoth the European Recycling Forum (ERP) and the EU network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law (Impel) have released reports this month identifying shortcomings in the Commission proposal to redefine the Directive.
