EU must do more to green transport, says Commission

A co-ordinated approach to sustainable transport research must be taken if the EU is to preserve the competitiveness of the European transport industry, Janez Potocnik, European Commissioner for Science and Research said in Brussels on 26 January.rnIn a conference hosted by the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (ERTRAC), Potocnik said that there was no room for inactivity in the transport industry and called for the Commission to promote low carbon technologies and make road transport systems sustainable, cleaner, and more energy efficient.
