The EU has edged nearer to a ban on illegal timber entering the EU market - following an informal deal struck between the Spanish Presidency and the European Parliament last week.rnThe second reading compromise on the draft legislation relating to the trade of timber and timber products will mean that companies in Europe will have to trace timber back to the country and concession of harvest, as well as verify wood products considered potentially illegal.
