MEPs to vote on timber

Import and trade in illegally logged timber should be banned. That is the message of UK Green MEP Caroline Lucas, whose report was to be voted on at the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety as we went to press (4 May).rn"We cannot afford to delay this legislation any longer," she told the 6 April debate in Brussels, urging MEPs to vote in again amendments tabled at first reading: "The Council position is narrow in scope, focusing on due diligence, and does not go far enough."
