EU will meet 2020 renewables target, say member states

Nearly all EU member states are confident that their increasing renewable energy production will allow them to meet their 2020 energy targets, according to national forecast documents recently submitted to the European Commission.rnTo date, 22 countries have submitted production forecasts on reaching the EU objective of sourcing 20 per cent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020 and only two have predicted that they might need help to reach the target. Greece, Italy, Malta, Poland and the UK have yet to submit their assessments.
