EEA says 80 per cent growth in renewables possible

The European Environment Agency (EEA) is predicting a "significant" renewable energy growth over the next ten years if member states meet their targets. In a 29 November report, the EEA stated that offshore wind capacity in Europe is projected to increase 17 times by 2020 and newer technologies such as concentrated solar power and wave/tidal power will also increase more than 11-fold, "if EU member states fulfil their stated plans to install renewable energy sources."
