Denmark to prioritise 7EAP

Denmark is aiming to reach conclusions on the 7th Environmental Action Programme (7EAP) at the 11 June Environment Council in Luxembourg, Danish Environment Minister Ida Auken told last week's Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. "It's been hard to keep the pressure on the European Commission to come up with the 7EAP," she said to MEPs including her mother, Danish Green MEP Margrete Auken. "But we've kept the pressure up together with you, and now negotiations are back at the Council." The 7EAP will cover the period from July 2012 to July 2022. According to the government, strategies to develop a resource efficient economy will form the core component of the programme.
