Bulgaria: Revamp sees new food waste and packaging rules

A planned overhaul of Bulgaria's food laws will see new rules on food waste, dietetic foods and supplements as well as food contact materials including packaging. Details of the revamp are set out in a notification sent to the European Commission last month. A statement in the notification says that "The main purpose of the changes to the Food Law is to ensure more effective supervision by the official inspection body by complementing current provisions and laying down further procedures."
