Green MEPs urge EU neonicotinoid ban to save bees

Green members of the European Parliament last week called for the EU to ban neonicotinoid insecticides to help tackle the bee crisis. The call came on 23 January on the eve of a debate between MEPs and the European Commission on the need for a ban in Parliament's Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee. The debate follows a question tabled by British Liberal Chris Davies, who has also called for a ban (see last week's issue for details).
